Javascript function not operating as should

i have a strange problem with Javascript, I have a button to pop up a login menu, On click, I call the func, it inserts the code, makes a variable a = 1, and calls for another function to check if its visible, if yes it sets it invis and a = 0;

But only works for the first round, then it seems like getting stucked in the if statement and wont load from scratch and keeps popping the alert, too strange... or maybe im missing something?
