Excel: How do I make a formula that says "IF one specific thing, give one answer; if anything else, give one of two possible answers"

I'm trying to recreate an old Excel sheet that I seem to have forgotten how I created in the first place. In the old version, all it needed to do was see if there was a date in the column, and display a score of "1" if there was, and 0 if there wasn't. I'm having a brain fart and can't remember how to do even that, which doesn't bode well, because what I'm REALLY asking about is how to take that and make it even more complex.

Now, I need a formula that will see if the content of the cell is, rather than a date, the words "Daily," or "Weekly" and display a "0" for either of those, and then, for all things that are not "Daily" or "Weekly," run the normal test for the presence or absence of a date.

Thanks, all! --SM
