Outlook Template Form IF Statements

I have searched this forum and others looking for some information about "if statements" when building and outlook form template. I will explain what I am working on the best that I can:

I am working on a form to request time off for specific reasons, four different reason "codes" to be exact. I have my basic form setup that auto calculates the hours and auto calculates the dates (after the first date of the week is entered). We do not have InfoPath, otherwise I would export this information to better log and track, but that is a different issue for a different time.

I placed each "code" in a combo box for easy selection. What I would like to do is set up this template to recognize the value of the combo box, and run some sort of "if statement" such as: [If cbo1 = "A" Then txt1 = txt2]. txt1 and txt2 would be numerical values and I have cbo1 in its own data field, so the information will be retained.

I have P2 setup with fields for each day of the week and for each request "code" so this process would run in the background. My problem is getting this "if statement" to be recognized in outlook VBA, or even fire. I have worked with access, but outlook seems to be different. Is there a link or website out there that can point me in the right direction? Or, is there is different program within the Office Suite where I could create and email-able form to allow for user input, and then emailed back for logging and tracking? I have tried access, but I can only email in HTML format of the form, and it is not user friendly. I have also tried Adobe PDF distribution, and that was highly inefficient. I appreciate your time in reading this novel.
