PHP Register Logic Issue with AJAX Chat

I am trying to create a register page for AJAX Chat (for some reason there is no way built in). So I am working on a login page. This is my first time making a register page. The issue happens when I attempt to check if the password is the same as the confirm password. It will tell you that my password is not the same as my confirm password. I have retyped the password multiple times, and it still says that they are not equal.
