Script that deletes folder based on modified date of file located outside the folder

i'm trying to figure a script that checks the modified date of file located in “C:\Program Files (x86).." and if the date is after year 2012 then the script has to end and to return 0. But if the date modified parameter is before year 2012 then the script has to delete folder in “c:\ProgramData.." .. im really new to Powershell and i would be so grateful if someone can help me with it.
