Can I Use 2 Groups of Conditionals in If statement?

Might be a very noob question for someone whose dabbed in vb for a while but never knew how I could group 2 conditional groups in one if statement?

If (x=1 and y=1) or (x=2 and y=2) then
do.some.stuff
end if

X and Y must be 1, or x and y must be 2, to do some stuff.

does adding the parenthesis do the trick?
