VBS - trying to return a TRUE when the machine name begins with a specific letter

I'm very new to .vbs and I'm trying to write an IF statement that will return a true or false if the machine name begins with E. so if its "EXXXXXXXXXXXX" then namecheck = true. the machine names are always 12 characters but the only character I need to check is the first and if it is an E.

My knowledge is very basic and I don't know how to start this.
