Tkinter drop down menu not loading data when the submit buttton is pressed

I have code that takes what you have selected from a drop down box in tkinter and assigns it to a variable so a ifand elif function can display the appropriate data when a button is pressed.

I have made it so the code prints what the output of the drop down is. It outputs what i wanted but the ifand elif doesn't work
