How to create simple yes or no tkinter checkboxes

My question is the same as the title. How do you make a simple yes or no checkbox in Tkinter?

If yes is selected; then 
    no is unselected 
elif no is selected; then 
    yes is unselected 

That was a very basic way of looking at it but I can't seem to find anywhere how this is done. I have been trying to do this for a while but can't seem to do it.

Any help with this problem is greatly appreciated!
