Faster way to evaluate 30+ If Then expressions in Excel VBA

I am looking to evaluate a cell value against 30 possible If Then conditions evaluated in binary (if x then y, if a then b with no duplicate values).

If cell (a, 35) is equal to any of those 30 values, cell (b,35) on a different sheet will need to be overwritten with a new value.

Running 30+ If Then pairs per line on the spreadsheet seems needlessly slow but I'm unfamiliar with any faster way to link data pairs for these purposes. Any suggestions are v. appreciated!
