Searching for an element inside an array, wich is a value in a dictionary

So I am making a sort of "friendslist". I have a dictionary with all the names as keys an their values are list with their friends, now i have a function wich will add a friend to the list of friends but i have no clue what the if statement should be when they're already friends.
