Why does XSLT use <choose-when-otherwise> instead of the more common <if-else> conditional statements? And also, if they chose <choose-when-otherwise>, why didn't they allow a single when statement and instead choose a single if statement?
What are the advantages in design or algorithm?
If there are no advantages, then why didn't they use <if-else> to which people are more used to and would therefore be easier to remember and use?
